SPRING CANYON PARK
FORT COLLINS, CO
NoCo’s First ADA Accessible Playground
This 100-acre park is the second largest in the City of Fort Collins. It is the first universally accessible playground for children with disabilities, which was done in alliance with Shane’s Inspiration Playground Organization. The adventure area has separate age-appropriate playgrounds with a splash park and an innovative “Sleeping Giant” that snores when you tickle its nose.
The park includes a restroom facility, park shelters, and a maintenance building. There are lighted tennis and basketball courts, baseball and soccer fields, as well as a post-tension inline hockey rink. The park also includes a dog park, complete with its own swimming pool. The project features access to the park via a concrete culvert underneath Horsetooth Road.
