In partnership with the Town of Erie and Wenk Associates, ECI Site Construction Management broke ground on Schofield Farm Open Space on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025. This exciting new endeavor will combine historical restoration with recreational opportunity for a truly unique outdoor venue.
Schofield Farm Open Space, located at 2203 North 111th Street in Erie, is comprised of 35 acres of Erie Lake and 40 acres of the historic Schofield Farm homestead, which includes the original farmhouse, barn, and additional outbuildings. The farmhouse was recently renovated during the initial phase of the Schofield Farm Open Space Master Plan.
The revitalization of the space will result in several new elements for future visitors to enjoy: Event plazas, ceremony lawn, maker space, community garden, parking, restrooms, granary, and plenty of trails and natural spaces. The goal of the project is to bring the Town’s 2018 Master Plan for the space into fruition, while maintaining current agricultural uses and habitat preservation for the land.
ECI has performed ample work for the Town of Erie in recent years, including Erie Community Park Final Phase and Coal Creek Park. We look forward to sharing project updates for Schofield Farm Open Space as construction progresses.
