Park Showpiece is Northern Colorado’s First ADA Accessible Playground

This $12.5M, 100-acre park is the second largest in Fort Collins and the city’s first universally accessible playground for children with disabilities. The playground, completed in alliance with Shane’s Inspiration Playground Organization, has separate age-appropriate areas with a splash park and innovative shotcrete-constructed “Sleeping Giant” that snores when you tickle his nose. Buildings across the expansive park include restrooms, park shelters and a maintenance building with office space. Park visitors can enjoy baseball and soccer fields, and lighted tennis and basketball courts. A post-tension inline hockey rink adds diversity. An extremely popular section of this large community park is the wonderful dog park, complete with its own swimming pond.

“The park’s setting is expansive and beautiful. Wonderful playground for children, with an interactive spray park, swings, creative fun everywhere. Covered areas for cook-outs or parties. The view is beautiful in all directions and you can access tennis courts, ball fields, basketball courts or walking trails. Nice restroom facilities. The park never feels crowded even when there are many people there. A great family gathering spot.”  – Kathy H., TripAdvisor review
